  • Won't reboot normally with G400

    Hey,
I'm using WinME, on a P-III 733/256Mb RAM, Gigabyte motherboard. When Z-buffering is on (no matter which drivers for my G400 millennium) windows cannot reboot normally. Whenever I reboot I get a BSOD, then gets back to windows with nothing working, no explorer, etc. just rundll running and not responding. If Z-Buffering is off, OpenGL doesn't work. What's the deal? please help.

    Thanks,

Oops, my bad. It's NOT THE Z-BUFFERING, It's the BUS MASTERING. Read again, not the Z-Buffering, it's the bus mastering which causes it not to reboot normally, but if turned off causes OpenGL not to work.
No I haven't tried 6.1x drivers yet but It's not in the fix list so....

Can you give us your IRQs? (Look in the FAQ-Archives for how to do so)
Which drivers are you using? You don't specify on that either.

And last but not least, when do you get this error? Just when trying to install OGL or when you try it in an app/game?

Matrox G400 is on IRQ 11 with nothing else on it. IRQ 12 is used by my ISDN card and my ethernet card, ACPI is on 9.
I've tried 5.52, 6.01, 6.04 and 6.10 with the same problem. It's actually not that big a problem (I simply scan disk a lot) and I've lived with it for 4 monthes now, but now that the new drivers are out, I was hoping for it so badly, so I decided to write in the forums about it.
The current drivers were until this message 6.04, and now are 6.10. I did upgrade the card BIOS to the most recent, but it didn't change a thing. Nor did any version drivers of VIA 4 in 1...

Nimster, try updating your G400´s BIOS, as some problems with rebooting were solved...
