So there is NOT any Carmack interview or plan which sais that Matrox' netx gen card will solve the memory bandwith problem?

There was one, I remember reading it.

I spent ages yesterday looking for it, but no luck.

Im almost sure it was a reply to someone in the /. forums, but they will only search back 1 week.

What we realy need is someone (Ant?) to keep a record of all things Matrox, so that we can go back and check up on things if we want.

This rumor of a rumor is really intriguing me, so I decided to start scouring the 'net.

Here's a post that I found on Rage3D:
"In my opinion, tile-based architectures are going to be the future of the video card industry. 3dfx is working on one with Gigapixel, Nvidia supposedly has one in the pipeline, and god only knows what Matrox is working on (something that supposedly eliminates the memory bottleneck of video cards altogether), can't you see a trend here?"
