msi 6321 (694d) en G400 DH Max 32Mo

Hello everybody,

I have a big problem. I just buy a msi 6321 (bi processor Celeron and PIII) and my G400 doesn't start on this motherboard.
The PC beep and I have nothing on screen.
My AGP Aperture size is to 128 Mo (the max)
I update the motherboard's bios with the last release.
My G400 work in another PC and a simple G400 work in my motherboard.
Actually I have a pci graphics card and it's not very good.

can you help me please.

The beep are abnormal.1 long and 2 short. My card is inserted properly in the AGP Port.

Are you really mixing a Celeron with a P3 in a dual board ???

No, I have only Celeron (466). But the board can use celeron or (not and) PIII.

what make of bios does that board have? checking through my checklist of error codes I find 1 long & 2 short bleeps with an award bios means video error!

odd, just looked at my asus m/board manual( for an award bios) & it says 1 long followed by 3 short beeps= videocard not found or videocard memory bad. maybe my checklist needs updating!!

yes it's a video error, but this card work on another motherboard and another G400 (simple) work on my motherboard.

It's strange.

are the bleeps you mention normal or abnormal for your motherboard? if abnormal, what do they sound like?
have you tried simply reseating your G400 in case it wasn't properly inserted first time round? more details would be helpful!

Check the video init in BIOS to make sure AGP is primary video. Default is PCI.

but the bios is check (AGP is the first device to init) and my card is insert properly.

For most motherboards, when ever you get the 1 long, 2 short, you have to check the memory or video card to see if its seated properly. Just because it looks like it is inserted properly doesn't mean it is. Its one of those things that you learn to do no matter how firmly the card was inserted. I know - i work for a computer store. it happens fairly frequently. you get used to it.
