  • Please Help! Win2k/G400/Standby Problem

Hi guys, I need some major help..

My computer has been freezing if you leave it on unattended for a couple of hours..It never happened with 5.10 drivers for win2k
only with 5.14 and the new 5.20 drivers

at first i thought it was having trouble waking up from standby..but after i turned off "standby" and "shutoff monitor" from win2k, the computer still freezes.

I have also posted my problem on the official matrox forum, but the tech guy told me it could be an irq problem and told me to remove the card one by one, wait for it to go standby... and see what's causing the trouble..I don't have the time to do all that right now but I suspected it could be incompatibility with ACPI, so i reinstalled win2k with ACPI, and APM disabled..and it still freezes...
Anyone else had this problem? Please help

Are you actually using the Highpoint controller? If not, can you disable it?

Yea, i actually have a HD connected to it...

is there a known issue with highpoint controller?

I'm starting to suspect maybe it's the opengl driver too..

cuz the screensaver i'm running is opengl
and when i play Counter-strike in opengl, the system freezes in the same fashion

i'm going to disable my screen saver and see if everything will still works...

      will report back tomorrow
