Is Matrox G450 overclockable like G400

Hi,

I'm looking for a videocard to put on a ABIT SA6R P3-800E.

Was waiting for G800, but ..... I Can't wait anymore.

Now, I know G450 is not fast has G400Max, BUT can we overclock it to almost reach the same performance?

I'm afraid to go with g400max or g400 plain because of there age.

Asus 7700 look pretty but I heard quality in 2d is a little poor.

Any comment guys?

can't answer your question directly but like you said the max is faster than the G450 plus you can also o/clock the max for increased performance with MGA tweak utility. I'm still very happy with my max in spite of its age!

G450 can be overclocked quite well. The only problem so far is that there are no publicly available overclocking tools for it yet.
