No, you don't have to do anything extra to get OpenGL to work, a driver is already included in the setup.

I had my G400 Max/RR-G in my Epox/K6-3 400 and later updated to a K6-3+ 600 and the G400 is just not suitable to MVP3 chipsets for gaming. Great for 2D. I never had stability problems with SS7/G400, it was just that the CPU didn't have the horsepower to effectively run the highly CPU dependant G400. I replaced my mobo/cpu with a Duron 850 and I'm finally completely happy with my G400. I don't think you'll be able to run Q3 on that system.

Right now, the best PIII board is one
with a Via Apollo Pro with 133MHz bus...
        No way! BX forever!

So what if yo only get UDMA/33 and AGP 2x? I don't give a shit. 'Your AGP bus is overclocked, the horror!'... so what? The G400 handes it fine, even at 2x AGP on a 133MHz FSB.

And you still get superior performance with the BX @ 133 than with any other chipset around for P3 at the moment.

MasterGoa, take Rags advice and give it a shot. You nothing to loose and it will work til YOU feel like upgrading.

On my MVP3 mainboard (Chaintech 5AGM2)
            k6-III 400@428:
            G400 MAX AGP 2x ok
Quake III very good!! (1024x768x16 + HQtexture = 36 fps pretty playable!!)
MDK2 very playable too for me(1024x768x32+trilinear= 31 fps).
I'm very happy about gaming with G400 still with a slow system (Expendable, Racer, Viper Racing, all works great!!).
In general G200 drivers were not so good as G400 ones (6.xx) and max AGP speed was 1x.

Would you mind sharing with us how you installed it?
              That would be VERY helpful...

I'd just like to add that my old system,

                Epox MVP3G5
                128 megs PC133 ram
                K6-2 550
                Matrox G400 MAX
                SBLive! X-Gamer

ran decently without any problems. True it wasn't even as fast as my new CUBX+Celeron 533A when running at the base 533, but it still got the job done without any hassles. No static or poping like some people compain about with the SBLive!, UDMA/66 worked great, it was just a nice setup IMHO.

Of course, there's no way in hell you can get a K6-2 550 to run at 800 like my Celeron's running at now, at least not without some serious cryogenic cooling or something.
