  • different resolution problem under w2k

    Hi,
Is there any way to get around the not being able to use seperate resolutions/frame rates in w2k?
I'm willing to play with any settings although I understand it is not just a driver problem.
    Thanks
    Ed

"I understand it is not just a driver problem"

It's not a driver problem at all.
It's entirely an OS limitation. All single chip/multi-output cards are up against the same limitation.
Unless you are prepared to re-write the NT Kernal, there is nothing you can do to get around this issue.

Install a second video card (PCI).

I was under the impression that the multiple-output/single chip resolution "problem" would be fixed by a later service pack release for W2K. Anyone know when this service pack may become available?

Right now, this is the last thing stopping me from going to W2K on my non-gaming box. Everything else is good to go, driver-wise.

No service pack will be released to fix it. wait until Whistler Pro.

It is not gonna happen unless you install a second video card in you system.

Are we saying there is a patch in the works, or are we saying that W2K and different resolutions are a never-to-be? It seems the above two responses may be contradicting each other?
