There's no absolutely winner, each player has some advantages over the others:

    -cinemaster(and family)
+ excellent decoding, best deinterlace (useful for framerate conversion i.e. playback of R1 DVDs on PAL TV)
    - slow response of playback controls

    -windvd
+ great compatibility with winnt, win2k, ability to play back vob files and not only DVDs

    -power dvd
+ flexibility in changing the display aspect ratio, complete info about the DVD content, i.e. compression rate, resolution, fps...

but hey, you can install and use all of them according to your needs

    regards, bogie

I go with WinDVD... Excellent picture quality, although Cinemaster equals that.
      Guess it's just a habit...

You can download the latest version of Matrox DVD Player from the following link: ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/video/rt200...nal/utilities/

I think it is version 6.1.22

I use WInDVD 3.0 Multichannel DTS version

The only software decoder that does DTS!
