    Check it out...

I think that everyone here will be very excited about it,and since it comes from one of the better sites,it could very well be true.

    >> Matrox representatives have assured us once again that Matrox will offer a real gamers card ("G800") in Q1 of 2000. While there are many indications that Matrox might not be able to offer a faster card than the NV20, we hope for a card with a good price/performance ratio as we do not really need anymore 500$ videocards on the market... <<

    that sounds really good !?!

Assuming that it is true, and even if a single chip version of the G800 "only" matches the performance of a gf2 ultra, you woudn't consider that a worthwhile upgrade for someone who's still hanging on to his/her G400.

I sure would, especially if the price would lower than a Gf2 ultra.

        At last some good news!!
I was thinking of buying a Radeon DDR or a GTS2 for 1 month now because of the rumoured summer 2001 G800's release date but now I will wait a little longer.
I hope the Q1 2001 is not in March!!!!!

By the way the site says Q1 2000 ....

Just to point out that it is Ace's reporting on something posted on another site, Xbit labs, those guys post a similar thing almost every month.
