TV Cards & DVD Max

I've been messing about using DVD Max on a monitor and had everything working except output from my Hauppauge WinTV card. It would freeze on the first frame but if I moved the window it would update. By constantly moving the windows about I could get a moving display but it would stop as soon as the window was stationary. Went through all the settings in the WinTV software but to no avail. Checked on the Matrox forum and there are people with different TV tuner cards having the same problem. I then set about trying various third party TV players in the hope one would work and to my suprise I have now got one which does.

So to cut a long story short, go to the following page and download the Borg TV program. You can now watch TV full screen on the secondary monitor

Thing is, whenever it's set to use overlay, the signal will be ported by DVD Max ...

... even when it's descrambled pay tv ...

Is ther anything like bTV or any other third party tools for the Rainbow Runner?

I have exactly the same problem. I have succesfully used FreeTV without such a problem.

Not sure, but if you follow this link, you'll find a tool that supports the Zoran Chip and afaik, that one's used one the RR cards ...

TV apps like FreeTV have a huge impact on the CPU. Does anyone know a freeware/shareware TV app that has low impact on the CPU (like the WinTV app); I don't need any descrambling.

The reference to Zoran chip with these programs usually refers to satelite receiver cards, but I'd love to see me proven wrong.

I have a cheap BT848 card in addition to the Marvel for desc...sorry, watching those non-german_dubbed channels
