Dual-head sucks with 2 old 14" monitors?

I can't get Dual-head to work with 2 older 14" monitors.

It doesn't make much sense. I can use the dual-head with a TV as my secondary monitor, but when I try to use an older AST 4i monitor as a secondary display I get a horizontal line oing down on the Monex (my main monitor) and a horizontal line going up on the AST.

Yeah I know, 14" monitor is insane, but I'm just trying out the dual-head before I get my 19" monitor.

So why does it suck so bad? I plugged the monitors into different outlets and they are both properly grounded.

I have Axion 14" and it works fine, it is svga and the max resolution is only 800x600
60Hz. Monitor must be at least 10 years old.

Maybe their shielding is not up to par ...

try to place some metal plate in between both monitors (your mom should have one in her oven ... ) and see if that reduces the interference.

OH right, so my putting the 2 monitors like 1 inch away from one another is not a good idea?

btw, how old are those monitors ?
(14" seems to have been a loooong time ago)

Quite old. 4 and 5 years old each. I guess I could try it again with them farther apart but I'll have to do it with different monitors. I just bought a 19" monitor. Not having much luck with it alone though. Its a TTX 8997 .25 dot pitch 19" monitor. The text looks blurry, at least blurrier than my 14" and another 17" TTX I have used. I'm not pleased. It didn't look like this in the store.

If you check Matrox's site, there is something in the Support FAQ about people having blue lines on their display. I believe the fix was downloading a new monitor file. I'd go check it out.
