Well being the loyal Matrox fans that we are, I guess we have to be content with new driver releases, instead of new hardware!

P.S. no overclocker means I'm still sticking with 5.41 + Turbo GL

Maniac, the Matrox OCer will only work with PD5.xx. So the other two mentioned OC utils are your only way to do it.

Maybe you should give them a try instead of punishing yourself with PD 5.41.

The direct 3D seems to be much faster with the latest drivers than the previous ones in win2K. I noticed the spinning box test in dxdiag rotates much faster. This is with a G400 DH 32mb. No fixes I could see in quake3 ICD, still has lighting errors on walls

No problems at all with 5.41 + ICD, very nice framerates across the board.

Maniac, try the 6.10 ICD. I find it more stable than the TGL. I haven't benched the TGL tho... Maybe we can swap files so we don't have to install and uninstall to get what we want?

                My Q3 performance(with 1.27g 8x6x32 bilinear text 16) went from 55 fps (6.10) to 46 fps (6.21)
                My "installing procedure" was correct.
                -uninstall (reboot)
                -install VGA card (reboot)
                -install 6.21
-disable V-sync and set "Optimize for speed" the ICD
Obviously my G440 runs at AGPx4
Have you got any idea ??

                Merry Xmas !!

Just curious are there any apps that even use DX8 ? if not then it would be useless to have DX8 drivers out.

DoW no longer recognizes my G400 with the 6.21 drivers... oh well...
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

Galvin ... as I mentioned in my GHW/SW "CPU fan" thread, my friend just picked up an OTA HDTV decoder card which requires DX8.

Released a new driverpack based on the 6.21 drivers from Matrox. Get it @ www.paraknowya.de, it should solve some install problems and such! =)

                            regards

                                Hey ParaKnowYa,

What kind of hack job did you do to the drivers this time? You should let ppl know at least that much.
