Matrox Haerware Identification

Could some Matrox Guru please be kind enough to identify the following cards?

Also, given the memory info given, can you sleuth the original memory config, or failing that, is there a util that can identify Matrox cards and memory configs without Windows????

I'm not quite sure what 'MGA-MIL/MOD6/0E' on the chip is all about, but 'MGA-MIL/2/DEC2' for the first card says to me that it's an Original Matrox Millennium, 2MB. These cards used WRAM as far as I can remember.

The 2nd card, from 'G2+/MILA/8C' I reckon is a G200 Millennium 8Mb. This card, from 'G2+/SG/MOD8' is 8Mb of SG-RAM.

The second card you mentioned is most definately a Millennium G200. (I've the same PCB number)


The first indeed looks like an original Millennium to me.

I did get your email, but I haven't got it at work, so I'm replying here...


Anyway, yes, the 'MGA-MIL/MOD6/0E' on the daughterboard could well mean that this is an upgrade to take the card to 6, or more likely 8Mb.
And, yes, the 'G2+/SG/MOD8' is the SG-RAM 8Mb module is an uppgrade to take the card to 16Mb.
