Nobody? I'm not sure that you should be so definite in your conclusions there!

Why should nVIDIA buy Matrox when they can buy their engineers ?
I think this was more of a setback for nVIDIA than it was for Matrox in more ways than you could imagine.

Don't know about the lawsuite outcome. But when a company starts to act like nVIDIA they will make too many enemies in the industry for their own good. The graphics industry is not that large so this next year should be very interesting if not entertaining.

Would you be willing to enlighten us with some of these ways that we can't imagine?

            Thanks,

Trying to figuring out what Matrox is up to is like tying to find a road that's not on the map, at night, while wearing welders googles!

Oh where, oh where has my Matrox gone.
Oh where, oh where could they beeeeee?

I want to buy a brand new video card,
But Matrox won't ship one to me.

              Le sigh.

Looks like I'll need to hunt down Dr. Fluke Hawkins after all.

HEHEHEH... They've been throwing their weight around a bit too much this past year.

Be patient, sit back and stay out from under the Fat lady. When things heat up in an Industry like this it usually benifits the consumer.

Last I heard about the lawsuit MAtrox had won against the ex-employees, but the case against Nvidia was still going.

This was only from someone else who posted on these forums, and I cant even remember who it was. Dont take this as definate knowledge, but its sounds fair enough.

Also, I wqas thinking last night, and realised that Matrox have been following a obvious path once you think about it.

The G100 came out with the first AGP mobos (LX chipset), that ran a 1X

Then the G200 was out with the BX chipset (2X agp).

The G400 was built from the ground up to be 4X agp complient, even though they released it a little early, but that was probably due to Intel not getting the i820 chipset out on time.

Does that mean the G800 wont be out untill 8X agp is ready, or almost ready?

I know we dont even use 2X agp at then moment in most cases, but its another good rumour to annoy people.

I know that Nvidia will screw up eventually(all companies do at one time or another),but i doubt that there will be any major change this year.

As we all know,Nvidia is entering all sorts of different markets and to top it all off has that huge contract for the X-box,wich is pretty much garantied to sell millions of unit's and generate huge amounts of money for them.

Let's face it,a lot of things have to go very wrong for them in order to have any significant changes this year.

And since when are there any friends in any industry when money is involved???.

I don't care what Matrox calls their new card. They call it Isane Canuck 3D for all care. I just use G800 as a generic term for their unannounced, but everybody knows their working on it, next video card.
And who says they are only working on one.

Jammrock - what Joel said, was not that they might not be working on any, but they could be working on more than one...
