  • NEED HELP -- Horrible 2D performance with Matrox Millenium G450

The following video benchmarks were created with Dr. Hardware 2000. My system specs are included in this printout. (The motherboard is an MSI K7T Pro, MS-6330.)

    PDF file

This is a Matrox Millenium G450 running in an AGP 4x slot. AGP 4x is enabled in my CMOS. So why are these benchmarks so pathetic? Is there something I haven't enabled here that I should?

Any help in solving this problem is appreciated. Thanks.

1st off- AGP mode has no bearing whatsoever on 2D speeds. It only comes into play in 3D modes when texture swapping is happening. Why this chart would try to show otherwise is beyond me. 1x, 2x and 4x AGP mode all perform the same in 2D, since no AGP swaps are happening.

What we really need to see is your full system config, including IRQ assignments, devices, desktop settings, etc... (how are you running 3 hard drives and 2 CD/DVD drives...there is either a secondary IDE adapter in there, or these are SCSI devices, but we have no way of knowing from the given info)
Complete config details are needed to troubleshoot any problem.
