How do I play .vob files with Matrox DVDmax?

I have some .vob files I want to play but I can't seem to work out how to get the Matrox
shipped Cinemaster player to select a file instead of looking for a DVD.

Is this possible - if so how?

It's not (yet ?) possible with the Cinemaster Player itself, but:

Open up Mediaplayer1 (Mplayer.exe in your windows dir), click on devices, wait for the system to gather informations, click devices again and choose Cinemaster Software DVD or whatever it is exactly named and browse to the location to where you extracted your VOB files.

From that point of time it should be possible to double-click VOB files, cos MPlayer seems to assign the proper codec, so that MPlayer2 (MediaPlayer6.4) is able to use it too.

That's how I did it on my system ...

That worked - although if it crashes (happens sometimes), then next time I
run it I can't get cinemaster in the devices tab :-( I have to reboot!

Once it's assigned, the newer version of MediaPlayer is also able to playback .vob files ...

I'm not sure, but it doesn't crash over here and I'm mostly using Mediaplayer6.4

Guess what I just noticed ...

the new Cinemaster player that came with my G450 directly supports file playback !!!

I just bounced an AVI using MPEG-4 in 16:9 onto S-VHS ... creeeaaamy to say the least !



I guess it worth having a look on that update they offer for G400 users.

They offer an upgrade for G400 users? I just moved to Win2k and was lamenting my loss of the DVD player that same with. Where can I find this?
