Hello from Barcelona, Spain (and sorry for my bad english)
I have a Matrox G450LE (16 Mb) on a SOYO 5EH v1.3 motherboard with K6-2/500 CPU. This motherboard has an ETEQ chipset (a renamed VIA). I have two troubles with the graphics card:
-on the startup sequence (Windows logo bitmap), the screen goes to black two times,
but Windows (W98SE) starts well.
-sometimes, my monitor switches off, but the computer it's not freezed. It's impossible to restore the image.
I have all the PCI slots full, and the G450LE shares IRQ10 with an Avermedia TVPhone98 video capture card. The other option is to share with a SB128PCI (bad idea, I presume!).
I have an IRQ's empty (9) but Windows refuses to use it with the Matrox card plugged. With my old S3Trio all will rules well.
My IRQ list:
- 0: Clock
- 1: Keyboard
- 2: Programmable interrupt controller
- 3: COM2
- 4: IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
- 4: Sound Blaster Audio PCI
- 5: DSL Card
- 6: Diskette drive
- 7: LPT1
- 8: System CMOS/real time clock
- 9: <empty>
-10: Avermedia Video Section
-10: Avermedia Audio Section
-10: IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
-10: Matrox G450LE Dualhead
-11: SCSI (Zip Zoom) Adapter
-12: IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
-12: VIA PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
-13: Numeric data processor
-14: Primary VIA IDE Controller
-15: Secondary VIA IDE Controller
Any idea?. I have the latest VIA 4in1 patches (4.25a) and the latest Matrox drivers (6.23).
TIA
