• Mystique 220 in PD5.33.006 ??!??

Ehum?
According to http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/latest/home.cfm, the 5.33.006 drivers are listed for most of the cards all the way back to the original Millennium.
Working d3d of the Myst220?

The Mystique has no alphablending AFAIK, so full D3D support will never be possible. Since Alphablending is used for lightmaps (plz correct me if I'm wrong, I've not much knowledge about the internals of 3D-stuff..) it would be quite useless.
Guess those are 2D drivers only. Either case, it's good to see that they support even the old Millennium in w2k.

OTOH, what's with the version 5.33.025? When I download those drivers I get 5.33.006, like is stated for the G200-G4x0 series.

the mystique 220 has little D3D capabilities and almost no opengl capabilities..... the best one is MSI which is proprietory and only works with the games that came with the card (if u bought retail)

basically the card is obsolete and has been for quite a while (for 3D that is)

your best hope is if someone writes a opengl to MSI wrapper... which is doubtful..

For anyone with an old Mystique 170 or 220, please try the new Win2k driver if it works. Since the release of Win2k, Matrox had stated there will be no drivers support for all pre-G series Matrox cards for the OS, except the drivers bundled in Win2k itself. This is extremely disappointing.

I will be glad if Matrox has changed their stand on such matter. Most of the people who have Mystique 170/220 care less about any game related 3D support, but at least a workable Win2k driver with minumum Direct3D as what the hardware is designed for. Even without the Direct3D support could be fine..., but the lack of Powerdesk utilities is simply unacceptable.

Anyway, Matrox did position the cards as business solution. There are Powerpoint 3D plug-ins that make use of Direct3D accelerated texture mapping, but don't require all the bell'n beries of modern 3D games. Moreover, quite a number of old Direct3D games do playable with Mystique. There is no excuse why Matrox cannot offer Win2K drivers with the same Direct3D support in Win9x drivers for Mystique 170/220.

The 5.33.006 drivers do work with my Myst220 in W2K.
No D3D at all, but Powerdesk and DX8 at least.

I've had word from Matrox that 5.33 is a unified release for all Matrox boards back to the original Millennium, so much for them not supporting them, nice suprise I'll post the info on the MURC if I can ever access it again.
