  • Sharing IRQs with NIC

Just installed a nic card and it has shared irq 11 with my G400.Is this going to cause problems.Ihave a spare irq 5,how do I make the nic use that.Sorry if these questions are foolish but I am new to this .Thanks.

If you are running windows 98, just simply move your NIC to a different slot.

It works for me My AGP and 1st PCI slot share the same IRQ. The NIC is a 3Com 3C595 unit and I've had no problems under Windows 98, Me or Win2K Professional (which all seem to share IRQ9 if you've got ACPI enabled!)
      Cheers, Reckless

        No problem with sharing IRQ.
        I have been using IRQ11 for 3C905C & G400 for sometime now.

        Regards.

I've shared an IRQ channel between the G400 and my 3c905c-tx before in Win2k (ACPI), but when I do so, I lost my connection when I hibernated and booted back from the hibernation.

Currently I am sharing the IRQ channel between the 3c905c-tx and a Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro, and haven't had odd problems like the one described above with the G400.
