  • BSOD right at bootup in Win2K.

This is the 2nd time I have received a BSOD from G400D.DLL. The error is exception_not_handled. Tonight I was watching the tray icons load soon as it loaded powerdesk BSOD, I reboot all is fine. Problem with this error is it's nearly impossible to reproduce, BSOD from G400D.DLL probably happens maybe once every few months, thats how rare it is. And this is not from any game or anything just using desktop apps like netscape.

    Current system:
    CUSL2 (815E) 384megs of ram.
    CUSL2 Bios ver 1006.003 Final
    P3-1000/133
    G400 32MB DH (I never use DH)
    SBlive 5.1 XGamer
    3COM etherlink XL 3C905C-TX
    Current Matrox Drivers:
    PowerDesk 6.21.041
    Bios 1.9 - 33

Since you don't need powerdesk to startup just disable it.

Had this exact problem in win2k, only with a 3dfx 3000 TV card.
Once had a BSOD upon booting, problem wit3dfxblablabla.dll. This dll turned out to be the 3dfx variant of powerdesk. rebooted the system and haven't seen the problem since.

So I wouldn't worry to much about it if I were you, if it only crops up once every couple of months then it's not a big deal is it?
