Hi, I own a g400 max and I use the DVDmax option a lot. I don't really use the other dualhead features right now and pretty much don't play games anymore.
Right now I'm running win98 but I can't stand it's stability anymore and will change to something else.
I was thinking of going to change to win2k but then I saw in the release <a href="http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/notes/w2k551_notes.txt">notes</a>:
High CPU usage when DVDmax is enabled
So I'm not sure I can switch now. Presently I have a celeron 300a/450 and will upgrade soon to a p3 in the 700-800Mhz range.
What I would like to know, is what are other people's experience with the DVDMax option under win2k and NT 4 (maybe even linux too). I am specially interested if any of you use it to watch divx ;-) movies with it and how this "high CPU usage" affects performance.
Also, if this high CPU usage isn't too much of a problem, can it be enabled/disabled without rebooting in win2k? (I haven't tried win2k yet).
Thank you in advance
Please feel free to post any relevant suggestions too.
