I think the integrated bit may refer to an integrated RAMDAC.

I doubt the intergrated is about the RAMDAC. The G400s and G450s all have intergrated RAMDACs, and I think the G200s might have as well. Im not sure about them though.

From memory my Mystique 170 had an intergrated RAMDAC , but my Millenium2 AGP had an external one.

Actualy an integrated ( on MB with UMA ) G800 makes a lot of sense for Matrox. Thier main graphics marked is high end video as far as I can tell. Any one remember the SGI (oops.. sgi it's lowercase now:-) workstations, the NT ones with intel chips? They had a fully integrated MB and where spec'd as having kick butt video performance ( not rendering, but movie apps).

And, the G450 has the second RAMDAC integrated as well....

and Matrox is not exactly new to the integrated video market... ever seen Digital workstations?

granted, it was DECs engineering so it was probably not a true integrated chipset, but i wouldn't doubt its been tried before...

                Hi,

just had a look: the 'Integrated, xyz MHz' is just meaning the RAMDAC is integrated.
(just like the older ones G200/G4x0)

Anyone remembers that SNK NeoGeo Console with Matrox 3D GPUN?

those specs weren't from this world, but still that could be reason why G800 isn't out yet. (also that Integrated would correct word to describe those chips in consoles...)

also if someone at Matrox is playing around MURCers & matrox fans, he could put that as an clue...

                  who lives, will see....

What I can say is that, analyzing the evolution of Matrox in last the 2 years, a progressive removal emerges clearly from the cards video 3d to elevated performances, specifically thoughts for the extreme videogiocatori, in favor of a greater one focus towards solutions business and entry level, let alone to integration with the Such one trend will come continued also in the next generation of cards video, for which a precise date of commercialization is not known but that, to my warning, he is expectable to attend nel.giro.di some months.

You have all the Strings from the mga64.sys displayed here (you can compare the String from G800 with the older ones and see)

so, at least we know that it has a Integrated ramdac.

well it is a start... but we want some more information...

DC: That doesn't necessarily indicate what's meant by 'Integrated' (thanks Tempest )

I haven't taken a look at the drivers myself, but at least in the picture on the front page, the string for the G400 is identical to the G800's, that is:

                                MatroxMillenniumG400AGP
