hey sorry to bring the topic back up again, but I'm kinda new to the win2k thing.

    Does this make sense?
    IRQ Number Device
    9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
9 VIA USB Universal Host Controller
    9 D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
    9 D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter #2
    9 Creative SB Live! (WDM)
9 Win2000 Promise Ultra66 (tm) IDE Controller (PD)
    8 System CMOS/real time clock
    13 Numeric data processor
    6 Standard floppy disk controller
    4 Communications Port (COM1)
    1 Easy Internet Keyboard
    12 Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2
    14 Primary IDE Channel
    15 Secondary IDE Channel

It's saying that I've got 5 things shared on 1 IRQ and my G200 is missing from the list.

But if I got to the Memory Address info, all is ok. Someone help me out?

I tried to d/l the new g200 win2k drivers and they give me alot of headaches since they don't even let my win2k start. Anyone have any suggestions on which version of win2k drivers I should use?

Thorin78 : 1st; having most or all of ur devices sharing the same IRQ is a normal thing for an ACPI install intall of win2k, which ur configuration is. u shouldn't worry about it. even though they have different IRQ's in bios, my G200 is on IRQ 11 in bios and win98se, but win2k assigns it IRQ 10 sharing with USB.
2nd : with most win2k drivers i tried (5.03, 5.14, 5.34) the G200 has been assigned an IRQ, unless ur using the built in win2k drivers which doesn't assign an IRQ to the G200. (these drivers are intalled automatically when u setup win2k, so u have to uninstall them with matrox uninstaller and install the new drivers).
The 5.14 drivers r certified ones, u might wanna try those, or try the new 5.34; both worked fine for me except for the screen being shifted to the left after restoring from hibernate.(why did microsoft remmove the "reset display on suspend/resume" from win2k ? )
u need to use the latest uninstaller if u have problems installing new drievrs.

P.s. for MaGGi .. what bout ur nick ? y do u like confusing people ? i remember when i got my G200 in mid 1999 and started joining here i said : "WoW, this young lady knows what's she's doin, she even got the most overclocked G200 out there; i guess women are always lucky"
      LOL

        Interesting.

I downloaded the High Quality Sound GL XS demo. It runs, but all I get is a blank screen. I haven't waited forever for it to finish, but I can hear it working. Has anyone run into this problem before?

Also, the Vulpine benchmark is slow on my system! I guess that K6-3+ 500 I have is showing its age.

I'll try the Stars bench in a minute.

chucky : did u use the configuration utility to set ur resolution up ? try another res. or color depth ?

about ur K6-3 500, i have here a celeron 300A@450 with a G200 and it's still working ok for me .. well from time to time i feel the urge to buy a new coppermine it's tempting anyway :-)

Yep, I tried a bunch of resolutions and color depths. I even tried changing my desktop settings to what I wanted to try next before even starting it. No matter what I tried, it would just show a black screen. I even tried using the 4.77 G400icd.dll file (I've been using the one from the newest Win2000 driver release), but that didn't even work.

Possibly a problem with the MVP3 chipset? Possibly a problem with the G400 not having an IRQ, and using a MVP3 chipset? Who knows?

As for the K6-3+ 450 at 500: I wanted one last small upgrade before I went dual AMD Palamino's and DDR. It'll hold me over until then.
