  • How do i change the openGL Hz's for games under win2k?

topic just about says it all..

    Hate running games @ 60Hz...

    Any chance of changing that?

Try changing 60Hz for 85Hz in the control pannel->display->monitor. If that does'nt work, you'll have to go in the monitor setting tab and force a refresh rate for every resolution u use in games.

      doesn't help..

every resolution and colordepth has been set to 85hz and it still runs @ 60hz in GL games..

well try again... there isn't any reason why changing the frequency shouldn't work... also remember to change the frequency for all of the colours, 16bit and 32bit especially---

          Wrong place.

Set your refresh display properties/settings advanced/monitor settings/adjust a different display mode and adjust the res. and colordepth you are going to use in game.

Click on one of the 85Hz and the click on next. Make sure that "Ajust the display mode" is selected and not "Use windows monitor setting for the display mode".

Correct, go ahead and ajust the mode even though it shows 85hz there, then save the settings for windows to use, if there is a warning box that says that the settings may be out of your monitor's range, then let me know, I may have a fix for that as well.

                  hmm.. fixed now..

initially it didn't work.. then i downloaded the latest drivers and now it works using that method..

(old drivers were the lastest certified.. )

hi! anyone playing baldurs gate 2? I have a similar problem, when play in 800x600 and forcing refresh to anything else than 60Hz, the game starts in an odd hires, 16 color like mode. I'm using GL acceleration in game, but going 2D doesn't help. in w98 is everything ok. any suggestions?
                    thanx

I'm nterested in that out of range fix Rags. In win2k the settings I use for my monitor include 1024x768x32bppx85Hz. When I use the MPR file with these settings then my available Directx settings are limited to 1280x960, 1280x1024, and 320x240. This doesn't happen in win9x. The weird thing is that the MPR file is the only way for me to get all resolutions to be the same size on my monitor, using the inf file for the monitor without customization causes 1024x768 to overscan horribly.

                          Denty,

What make and model is your monitor?

                          Marty,

What do you mean you select it from the list? Try manually setting them.
