matrox G400 macrovision detection

Hi

My G400 recognises 'less than perfect' video input as macrovision encryption, and stops capturing. I realise that this is a problem with the card, but how do I solve it? I've tried the patch but I am running win 98 SE, which the author does not seem to feel will work with it. I would like to stay with win 98 SE.
