Sniff. Sob, My (former) G200 Is No Longer Mine

My first Matrox Card was a G200 bought in 1998 (I had used the Millennium and Millennium II before, but they weren't mine). It used to be coupled with a VA503+ and various AMD K6-2 processors until I sold it to my brother along with the rest of my system in Sept 1999. I reacquired it when I upgraded from a K6-2 500/G40016SH to the Duron700/G40032DH, and my brother's K6-III 450 went belly up. It was put in my secondary system to partner a *Cyrix PR266* chip that replaced the 500 K6-2 which I gave to my brother. I recently acquired free of cost a K6-2 500 to replace the Cyrix. My other brother set up a machine withan 800 MHz PIII a DXR3 and a VooDoo4 4500 for a cousin of ours. The VooDoo4 refuses to seat properly in the PIII. The VooDoo4 seats properly in the VA503+ and the G200 seats well in the Soyo mobo so we exchanged video cards. The VooDoo4 4500 is now in the 500 MHz K6-2 box, running fine. Goodbye old friend G200 you had really mellowed with age and Via 4in1s, now even working with busmastering turned on, you'll be missed.

Dang Denty, you've brought tears to my eyes. I have G200 in my celeron system and have planned to replace it with my G450, but can't seem to manage the exchange... he's been a very good friend to me also.

I was quite sad to see mine go. Luckily it has gone to one of my best friends who will give it a good home where it will be loved and cared for. *sniff*.

Oboy got my old G200 quite awhile ago. I guess it's still kicking in one of his systems.

I didn´t quite felt that about the G200 because I traded it for a G400, but I must say when my G400 left for my Prophet 4500 I got this strange emptyness feeling

At least, while we´re waiting for the boosted version of TCFKAG, Matrox could as well do the m3D-II, don´t you think?

At least I still have my vanilla in this machine. Btw the VooDoo4 is being held back by the K6-2 500 I think. The sad part is that i don't think the person who got the G200 has much sense, I just hope he doesn't cause it to die a premature death.

I know how you feel, Denty.. when I let my old 4mb Millennium go in the machine I built for my cousin, I felt kinda sad.. that was replaced by a 8mb MillenniumII though, so it wasn't really a total loss.
