    Sort independent anti-aliasing

One of the bullet points from Toms preview. What does this mean exactly? Maybe we wont be able to play at 1600X1200X32 with the G550, but 1024X768X32 with FSAA would be almost as good.

As an aside, does anybody know if having a PCI Kyro2 and a G400 works? Setting the Kyro to primary for games, but not using it for an extra monitor (my desk only has room for the 2 screens already there).

My 20inch has both BNC and standard connections, and a button on the front for switching between the inputs. I am thinking of just hooking a Kyro2 to the normal input on the screen, and pressing the button whenever I play a game, but having my normal setup for every day work.

Probably wont work, but if anybody has information about it I would be interested.

    Ali

Along with anisotropic filtering, it's one of the wondrous abilities of the Gx00 chipset that are often overlooked, perhaps because they are so painfully slow it's not even funny.

The G550 should be twice as fast as the G400 with anisotropic filtering because it has twice as many texture units. I guess we'll have to wait for the benchmarks to be sure though.

I did miss seeing the antialiasing bullet, but I'm guessing it's a mistake. I'm sure Matrox would promote antialiasing as a feature if it was present and at all useable.
