  • g200 overclock on bx board

    Hello Friends,
I want to try and overclock my asus p2b to 133Mhz fsb. Can the g200 video card handle the 89 mhz agp speed if i am successful? Anyone done this?

    thanks, e

MGA Tweak is here for OCing all Matrox cards.

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that I should test the card by giving it 89 mhz with a matrox overclock program beforehand?

Can I do this with this program?

Has anyone overclocked this card to 89 Mhz?

Greebe just didn't bother reading your post. The link he gave you is for actually overclocking the card, not the motherboard. It won't help what you are trying to do.

The card has a good chance of working at that speed, but you will most likley need to run the card in 1x mode, as getting 2x at that FSB is tough to do...

You can force 1x mode with MTSTU:

Thanks for this advice. What difference would there be between agp 1x and 2x? I take it that I can set this in the bios.

Just did that, thanks for reminding me. Did a search for "g200 and overclock" and read all the posts since '99. Had some spare time on my hands and a computer available.

Highly informative, educational, etc. I was just being lazy, waiting for someone to post: "yeah, I've done that, np".

                hasta luego,

                e.

I had two MillG200 and one MystG200 running at an FSB of 83MHz, all being overclocked for quite some range without any probs.
Later on I found out that the whole G-series family seems to be pretty overclockable ...
(those three G200 above, G400 Vanilla and now a G450 ran/run all way above spec)
