help! i cant change refresh rates!

wasnt getting much of a response in the other forum, so ill try my luck here.

"ok last nite i was at a lan party. since i didnt wanna lug my 21" sony multiscan 20seII to my friend's house, i took the 15" monitor instead. this afternoon i reconnected my system to the 21", and now i can't get a refresh rate higher than 60 hz. the flickering is driving me crazy! any solutions?"

When you swapped monitors, did you also change the monitor profiles?

yeah, i had to, but i changed it back to default monitor when i swapped it back. when mga tools did the test, it could do 75 and 85 hz, but when i go back to windows, it wont go above 60 hz.
