What do you guys think about the G550 review at Ace's??

I think I will run some test

Someone else in this forum (with a “high rank” and lots of post) wrote me and said that BNC cable is not necessary for a Matrox card. I found that strange, but what is the truth?


I have spoken with a retailer and we have come to an agreement. I will buy a gainward GF3 card and if am not happy with the picture quality I can return it within 10 days fully refunded.
(If so, I will buy a G-550)

I have a Sony F-500 monitor and like Rags, I am very demanding when we talk about the image quality. I think I will run some test (not 3D though because we all know that….) and compare matrox and Nvidia regarding the picture quality. I will start a new thread at the end of this month and if there is anything particular you would like me to test, please let me know.

Ok I tried 1600x1200 with my G400 the text was so god damn small It hurt my eyes, and this is on a 21", don't know how you stand it. Not all Geforce3 cards are created equal in terms of 2D, but you must know this already?

So I tell you the 2D quality of my Geforce3 is just a tad worse than G400 and you guys or some of you go wow that can't be possible, well it is. So then you people go well up the resolution, so it's a no win situation.

What I don't appreciate is being called something on the lines of a moron for saying my card has 2D quality just a tad worse than a G400, because it does. Or being called such and such for using 1024x768, this is pretty decent resolution, anything higher is too damn small even on 21"

So why don't we end this sillyness, I said what I needed to say, and lets end it with the medicocre insults, etc. ok.

Well 2D it’s the Final defence line for Murcers so don’t come picking on the quality! Still I must say that 1024 is not good on a 21”. I use 1280x1024 myself as I feel 1600x1200 is too small for me. I will conduct a “private” test of a Gainward Gf3 card and a Matrox, and I will let you guys know.. (no matter I will always be a murcer)

Ya know Galvin I don't remember seeing what 21" monitor you're using. A crappy monitor results in crappy image quality... but I guess you already know that?

The monitor, it's sharp. I love the monitor I got a great deal on it, 450 bucks talk about being in the right place at the right time
