You, more than anyone should know the general attitude here.
You've been through your share of bashing in your time at MURC.
When someone shows up as a new poster, cops an attitude, and whines, that poster is gonna get bashed.
We ARE NOT Matrox, and we hate whiners. Whiners get bashed. That's how it's always been, that's how it will likely always be.
If you feel the need to vent and whine, do it on Matrox's forums.

      Bottom line on the topic:
WinXP is NOT in it's final release "gold" form, and there will not be official drivers released until it is.
      End of story.

There. Now you can't say that I am being a dick just to new users. I don't care if you are new or old or bi. You post idiotic reasoning and I will counter it. Deal with it or don't read it.

Go to Ur nearest shop and buy a preview edition. It should set U back 2£ or 4$. Try it out. Only difference between this version and the one installed on OEM machines now is the driverbase. Same goes with the retail release. All features are complete.

Still, 3 months out of Beta isnt a whole lot of time. Just quite a bitch that people using Matrox products couldnt participate in the beta..

Matrox testers have XP. OEM users with Matrox products have XP. Warez kiddies and general tweakers don't have drivers for XP and Matrox drivers. Get over it.

And since the Win2k drivers work fine in XP except for dual-head, I fail to see the issue. The built-in drivers do dual-head flawlessly, the Win2k drivers do so after a bit of arguing. Where's the problem?

Judging by the reaction of OLD timers here, all of this must really be a sore point with Matroxusers.
I have never liked the expression: Whiners. Just because somebody wants something that might or might not be available, doenst make their voices a "whine".

It didnt use to be like this, on this fora. I myself got great help with some problems I had with my Mystique card.. And thats a looong time ago. At that time, a lot of people could have told me to "stfu and go read the faqs" or to just "stfu f***king whiner". They didnt.

Mayhaps the common faith in matrox have declined among the "hardliners". People whose faith or ideas are pressured often act more agressive??

Theres more to a compagny than its products. The attitude among its employes and yes, even among its customers, can be equally as strong a selling point. At least thats one reason that made me come back, time after time, from the old Millennium (bitch to spell right) to the G400max. 6 cards its been, and nearly 10 years.

                    Plz dont spoil it.

I didn't bash the guy. I countered his points with arguments. If you don't understand what that phrase means, then I am sorry.

Kaj, feel free to lurk as long as you like. I haven't seen you help too many people around here. I think I have seen far more soap box posts from you than hardware discussion posts.

Look at my posts, sure I can be brash, but I don't care. I shoot straight and don't side step in the name of political correctness or just plain cowardness. If you want to argue with points then fine. If you don't like discussions, then you can be like LAMFKR and only show your head when you don't like something that's posted.

Yeah, maybe I can be harsh. The guy says he is a long time reader, so he must have already known that. Wouldn't you think?

I have never liked the expression: Whiners. Just because somebody wants something that might or might not be available, doenst make their voices a "whine".
It becomes whining when they say the same thing several times, just different wording all in the same post. It's by a tone of a post as well. Just like my response was brash, or ****oleish, his was complete whine. If he wanted help getting his XP drivers to work, then he should have just said so without 30 lines of whine.

It didnt use to be like this, on this fora.
It's always been this way ever since I can remember. When someone complains about something that we cannot help/change it always goes like this. In this case I wouldn't really want it to change.

I myself got great help with some problems I had with my Mystique card.. And thats a looong time ago. At that time, a lot of people could have told me to "stfu and go read the faqs" or to just "stfu f***king whiner". They didnt.
People still get help on the forums. I help more often than I debate by a LARGE margin. I never tell someone to read the FAQ or STFU or even call them a ****ing whiner when someone posts a thread asking for help. But when a guy pops into a whinefest thread and fills it with more whine then as the last sentence asks for help, sure it's BBQ time.

Mayhaps the common faith in matrox have declined among the "hardliners". People whose faith or ideas are pressured often act more agressive??
Nope, it's always been like this. Every time a new OS is released or we are waiting for something more fruitful from big M, tensions get high and everyone has a bone to pick it seems. I am guilty, this new guy is guilty, and I bet most of the regulars are also guilty.

It's not a big deal. All LAMFKR is doing is trying fan the flames and he knows it. You want to discuss, fine counter my points I don't care, I will discuss. You want to be civil, then post as such and you will see the same reciprocated. People like LAM-- usually have nothing of any substance to post, and maybe I shouldn't even dignify them with a response, but I felt compelled to do so, so I did.

                        Peace.
