  • Matrox DVD-player and Win2000

Installed Windows 2000 yesterday, and I'm a big fan of the DVD-max feature since I love to watch DVD-movies in my sofa. So I insterted the matrox CD and I couldn't install the matrox DVD-player anymore, it wasn't even there!
Isn't the cinemaster player 2000 compatible or what is the prob? I've installed serviepack2 and I really would like to get the cinemaster player installed since I've got a remote control program for my ir-port that works with the cinemaster (not with power DVD for instance)!

Anybody installed matrox DVD player in windows 2000?

    DVD

Sorry I've been meaning to reply to this...

I can quite easily get the Matrox DVD Player packaged with my G400 MAX to work under Windows 2000. I've had a few problems outputting DVDMax to my secondary monitor but I haven't tried with the TV and I haven't tried to fix it... yet.
I'll test it out a bit more and see if I can help. Have you posted this to the Matrox Tech Support forums? or e-mailed their tech support? Although everyone here is very helpful, the Matrox guys wrote it and should be able to help you.

      Tested it...

Well I expected it to really crash and burn. When I first started using it I had a lot of trouble.
Then I set the two preservation options. "Preserve aspect ratio" and "Preserve source cropping" and what do you know?

No seriously, what do you know? I want to know everythin' ya hear!?

Back to reality... It works perfectly.

Only problem I have with this is the occasional sound crackle, I am almost 100% sure that's to do with my Monster Sound MX400 running in Win2k. (Boy was I ever suckered into that one)

According to Matrox TS, DVD player that originally came with G400 isn't compatible with W2K.

          REALLY?
Whoa, well it works pretty good for me, I must admit it's the olny program I have on my system that's crashed so far. Only when I'm using DVDMax though.

Get the new version from Matrox

            Order it at

Oh btw, that's a link to the US store, but you get the idea. If you bought your G400 before the date the new version was released, you have the old Cinemaster based DVD player which does not work with Windows 2000.

                  Souldn't work

The bundled player shows all in green on my computer. And it's not supported under W2K.
They released a new one, which I bought last week. Haven't tried it yet though.Maybe it depends on the date you bought your product...
