DVDMax playback problems

I finally got most of my g550 working how I want it, but have run into a problem I also had with my g400 before it died. Certain movie clips won't output to the TV in DVDMax mode. This has been fixed with DivXG400, except I have to change my resolution on my screen down to 1024x768 every time I want to watch a movie. Any ideas on ways to fix this?
