Dunno how often this comes up, but the G400 is not a three year old card, but rather it first got announced in the middle of March 1999 and was available in August ...

Please keep the facts straight, it gets very annoying at times.

I think it just boils down to people imbelling facts a little bit and maybe a little confusion since the Geforce2/3 and Radeon Cards are considered 3rd generation 3D accelrators.

Well, it seems like it came out ages ago. And 1999, in computer time, is ancient. But this bodes well for warrantee claims, which means it is good till mid-2002.

I've been fiddling around with a used G400 MAX I bought, and it still has the beans to run games up till now decently, if you use 16-bit and turn off all your TSRs in the background.

What amazes me is the driver stability on all the older games - everything runs. And the games really start up fast, I think due to the 5 ns ram and 200 clock. 3D image sharpness, clarity, and color vibrancy is unmatched. And I own a Radeon 64 VIVO, Geforce2 Ultra, and Voodoo5.

I'm installing all my old games again just to see how it looks on this card.

A real bonus is the 2D image quality, as there is nothing finer. And I haven't even explored the dual head, or TV-Out, which I understand is better than on the ATIs.

my G400 is 2 years old today (or there abouts )

i got with my first system, that was truely mine
abit ZM6, celeron 366, 64meg RAM SB live! was a real screamer when i put the CPU up to 550 and G400 to 150 200

only video card i've bought since although it could be ATI time soon
