  • Win 2K user, PLEASE HELP ME.....

I just installed Windows 2000 on my comp, and now i've got problem running the dvd smoothly.

There's like a dropped frame or something here (the picture stops(or jump?) for every 2 or 3 secs)

    This is my specs :

    M/B : Asus A7M266
    Athlon 1.4 Gz
    512 DDR
    Matrox Mil G450
    Windows 2000
    The latest drivers 5.71.014
    DVDMAX player

Thank you very much for your help...

    welcome to the forums!
as for your problem, have you enabled DMA for your dvd drive?
    Device Manager > IDE/ATAPI Controllers > Primary IDE/Secondary
IDE Channel > Advanced Settings > Transfer Mode > DMA if available >
    > OK

      Welcome aboard ...

By default, Matrox TV output is set to run in NTSC mode and if you live in PAL land, there could be a relation to your problem.

What region code are those titles and what is your setup like ?
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

        Got the same problem and....

I've done every F***ing thing I can think of. Enabled DMA, newest bios for my motherboards, newest drivers(W2k_571), DVD genie, new DVD player, lots of RAM, Twin 750Mhz Intel III p's, newest ATA 100 drivers, latest servicepacks,,,,,, Can this problem be fixed????????? Or do I have to go back to my horrible Encore3 *shrudder*. Atleast it could play NTSC on a PAL tv without problems..............
