G450 win2k big driver problems

I have on my pc 3 boot posibilities win98 win2k xp
in win2k xp i have problems with opengl games freezing randomly
games, hl counter strike, serious sam, quake3, but in win98 no problems this means same hardware different drivers i am comming to conclusion that matrox have big problems with there drivers for win2k xp, opengl i think is problem.
I have family member who borrowed a g400 card from me, in win2k same games freezing randomly on his pc but not in win98
we have another pc with navidia grafik card plays same games in win2k, therefore i am certain that Matrox cannot make stable drivers for opengl in win2k, but wont admit it i have tried everything new drivers sb live and all matrox win2k drivers new bios for motherboard matrox, nothing helps.
Another thing matrox new drivers 571 are a lot slower i think they have tried to set speed down to make there new drivers stable with win2k xp but they do not work. WHAT TO DO ?.

It's not the drivers, the drivers for the two in OpenGL are IDENTICAL between 98/w2k.

The more likely possibility is that win2k is a harder stress on systems, making it more picky about HARDWARE problems. You have a hardware problem/conflict. Post up your specs and it's possible we can help you.

Hi rags thanks for your reply i have tried everything updated everything motherboard bios drivers sb drivers matrox updated bios tried all drivers reinstalled win2k and xp many times tried installing win2k as standard pc and acpi pc nothing helps same games dual booting to win98 plays cs fine boot up again in win2k freeze? i am thinking seriuosly about a new geforce as i want to go over to win2k or xp but cant with matrox g450 do you know if sharing irq in win2k gives problems ? jtk

Like I told you, it's not likely a software problem. More than likely it's an actual hardware issue. The G450 has no problems with sharing IRQs in win2k.

Post up your specs and I am sure we can help you with this.

hope this helps you find the problem at the moment i am useing an old agp intel graphic 740 which works on all games that matrox
cant play so it looks very much like its a matrox problem as i just changed the card and installed the 740 drivers and it worked.
To me it looks like a new geforce anybody want a cheap g450.

Look guys i am not whining i am just tired, i have posted over the last 2-3 months, about 30 - 40 posts about this problem to both matrox and murc forums, i have sent my specs to both forums
and a lot of nice people have come up with 20 different things to try but nothing helps i have been working with computers since 1991 dos win3.0 win 95 win 98 win2k and now xp linux.
I have had many matrox cards a mga mga 200 mga 400 and now mga 450DH.
I have beta tested for microsoft many times but this problem is driving me mad so mad that i am considering buying a non matrox card i am a technician when fault find by locking out method games dont play with matrox, but play with old intel 740 card?
I just need my pc to work with out freezing so dont get offended
if you have any good ideas please share.

You know what, I offered help. But you are too thick headed to listen. I ask for system specs, and explain a common situation with win2k, and I get a response of your diagnostic results from windows along with a list of shit you did that wasn't even remotely related to hardware. Hell, I still don't see a complete system spec. Also you seem insistent that it's a Matrox driver problem when there are thousands of Matrox users who have no problems doing the same things.

You've wasted enough of my time and your time. I suggest since you have mind made up, you just go get a new card and be done with it. I have no patience for people who CHOOSE to be ignorant.
