  • New G450 drivers on G400 MAX?

Will the new drivers for G450 work on G400 MAX?

Normally Matrox posted the same drivers for G4?0, but now, there are different sets.

    Maybe?

Try 'em. Download and open the .inf file to see if there's an entry for the G400. If not... well you could force 'em, but who knows? G450 will have different timings and memory config.

Other than the INF file, there is no difference between the latest released 5.71.014 drivers for the G450/550 and the beta 5.71.014 drivers for the G400/MAX for Win2k/XP. I'm not sure, but the same is probably true for the 6.71.011 drivers for Win9x/Me that are released for the G450/550 but only in beta for the G400/MAX.

Just wanted to try them out, and therefore, I ran the setup program. It failed, telling me that my G400 card were not supported by the drivers (5.71 drivers)

          Regards, Lars.

Well I dont seem to have any problems.. however my friend tried it in his system and faces the same problem. the setup doesnt allow him to use the driver for his g400. only difference between our cards is mine is dual head while his is single head. maybe the drivers allows cards with dualhead.
