Anyway, B=byte, b=bit. That's what it always has been. But lately it seems that there are more and more people who don't know the difference anymore. Most of the times it is clear, but it can be very annoying and confusing too. That's why I bring it to people's attention.

k is the abreviation for kilo (=1000)
K is pretty close to k, but rather 1024

ever thought about the possibility that you might indeed have a problem with your HD ?

Please run scandisk again (if neccessary from windows) and do a full check.

I did check my hdd today with Scandisk, with 6.71 beta and all works out normally. Sorry to disappoint you

You mentioned in a thread in GH that you use DX 8.1 RC2 beta.
Could it be that the new drivers and this DX version don't like eachother ?
