Nice comments:
Anyone have any real evidence that the G550 is faster in 3D than G400 vanilla?I own a G400 and even though I don't know for sure, I expect the G550 to be at least as fast, 2D or 3D.
WinXP+DualHead+G400MAX alive and kicking, thank you... Okay so I know that the G450 cards are newer, but do you know anyone that would like to upgrade to a card with same features but inferior performance? Me neither... IMHO it'd be stupid^2 for Matrox to cease support on their fastest product before they come out with a better one.If you want a 2D card made in this century and don't need DVI, get a G450. I hear people talk up the G400 MAX, but if you want DualHead support for an OS made in this century, you need at least a G450.Last edited by Tempest; 26 November 2001, 08:49.

No way i will believe that G550 gets 8.8 Fps in Quake 3 at 800x600x32 and everything on max. My vanila G400 gets 38fps at this setting and 31fps not overclocked.Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe (nForce2)>>AMD 2500+@ 3200+ (Barton)>>1.5 GB Ram (PC400)>>Leadtek GF 6800 12x6(385/850)>>Western Digital 120GB (WD1200JB) & Fujitsu 20Gb(MPF3204AT)>>Cambridge Audio azur 540A>>Razer Viper(Mouse)>>V7 V7S20PD 20.1 TFT Monitor>>NEC 3510A>>Lite-ON (40x10)>>Cherry CyMotion>>CanoScan N670U>>Epson Stylus Color 760>>Windows XP (SP2)
