Marvel etv 450 & recording

Our company has a video tape it produced ~ 5 years ago. I purchased the G450 eTV so that I could copy the tape to my hard drive thus making it easier to do presentations. When I went to record the video, the software told me that "Copy protection is detected in the current video source. Your matrox product doesn't let you record video from a copy-protected source." The thing is that it's our video. We no longer have an "orginal" or "master" tape.
I am told that earlier versions of the software doesn't have this frustrating situation. I have matrox pc-vcr version 2.02 running on Windows XP

Can somebody please help?
