  • DVDMax and windows 2000

    Hi,

I was just wondering if DVDmax outputs mpg, vcd/svcd and divx as well as DVD's. I have just purchased a Radeon 7500 to be able to output video on my tv without having to reset my primary display, but this is not possible, at least not with w2k. It seems as w2k uses the same multi-display as NT 4, which needs to run both displays at same resolution an refresh-rate. So I'm considering switching to a G450 if it can solve this problem.

On the Matrox website it says something about overlay and that Quicktime for instance won't work with DVDMax. Does this apply to other video formats aswell, and if so, which ones don't work?

If the clip is played back using codec that supports video overlay, DVDMax is triggered for the clip. So it does not depend on clip but only on codec. All the formats You listed can be played back via DVDMax.

It's a bit different for Win2k/XP. Quicktime actually works in DVDMax so any video should work, assuming it's running in full framerate. Some streaming videos won't work...

      Good luck!
