I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 170T with a Matrox G400 16Mb AGP with the flat panel add-on. This combo is fantastic for my needs, but there's one small problem.
As you know, the G400 with the add-on and SyncMaster 170T are both capable of analog and/or digital (DVI) signals. I use only the digital (DVI) interface.
Each time I power up the system, the 170T scans for about three (3) seconds between the analog (A) and digital (B) interfaces for a signal. Then it gives up and goes into standby mode. Meanwhile, after about 6 seconds, the Matrox G400 finally initializes and sends a signal out the DVI connector. At this point, I press the A/B switch, the 170T locks on to interface B and I'm in business.
It's kind of annoying that the 170T gives up so quickly forcing me to press this button all the time. I called Samsung support a couple times. Naturally they say "Wow, no one has ever complained about this before. Must be a Matrox issue. Nothing we can do."
On the off chance that I might be able to fix this by tweaking the G400 I'm posting here for feedback from the super MURC community. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Specs: G400 driver 5.12.01.1720, BIOS 2.1-35; Powerdesk 6.72.018; DirectX 8.1; VIA 4in1 4.35 drivers
