G400 Max + Rrg = ?????

Hey,

I just upgraded from a G200 to a G400MAX, and I wanted to attach my Rainbow Runner G Series Card. But I am having a few problems. I am running the setup under XP, using W2k drivers (yeah, I know - NO SUPPORT!). I want to run my primairy display at 1600x1200, and my secondary display at 1024x768, both at 85HZ. When I use the regular drivers (not the video tools drivers!!), I have no problem doing this. But when I use the videotool only drivers, I can't seem to control the resolution(s) of both the primairy and secondary displays, independently. That is, I can't seem to tell it to run the primairy display at 1600x1200 and the secondary display at 1024x768. It only allows me to choose one resolution and maximizes it over both screens. This is annoying!!

How can I choose both display resolutions independently!! The only reason I am using the rainbow runner G series is for the TV tuner. And I don't want to buy another TV tuner card.

To answer my own question.................

After playing around with many different combinations of drivers, I have discovered a solution! My new solution is to run the latest (BETA) display driver for the G400 (under w2k/xp) AND the video tools for the Matrox G450TV. So even though I have a rainbow runner G series, I was still able to use the videotools for the G450TV, I believe the version # is 2.1, and success!!!

But now I have another problem:

Everytime I run PowerDesk, I get the following error message:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: E:\WINDOWS\System32\PDesk\PDESK.EXE

abnormal program termination"

So now I am unable to make use of any of the Dualhead features(ie: DVD MAX), as whenever I try running the powerdesk program, it just locks up. HAIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

512M PC-100 RAM
ALL SCSI DRIVES
Diamond MX300

WIN XP PROFESSIONAL (CONSTANTLY UPDATED WITH THE LATEST SERVICE PACKS!!)
