  • Out of interest jhas anyone else had the infinite loop problem with the 5.82

Yup with the 5.82 drivers non beta I get the infinite loop as soon as I try and install the little blighters. Yes I've used the uninstaller and yes I've got a Via kt266a chipset and it's Xp.
Under the 5.72 drivers I didn't get loops just kept loosing the video card settings or the machine would refuse to boot.
I've got back to Win 2000 as I've never had any problems with this month after month.
The problems are the same if a slap a g400 in.

I haven't personally, but have heard of others post of the same problem on Matrox's forums (not limited to the latest drivers)

Your should lower your hardware acceleration from your sound card. Go to your control panel in your sound and multimedia properties and check the settings of your hardware acceleration. By default it's setup to standard aceleration. Lower it a notch to put at basic acceleration. It should help

I've started checking what would be the best sound card to use with a Matrox card. Creative labs alwas had problems with Matrox and when you ask them how could solve this problem they just blame it on matrox.

Anybody who doesn't have the problem of sound looping and computer freezing in OpenGL and who doesn't use a creative lab saound card? Wich sound card are you using?

I doubt if it would make any differance. Anyway gone back to win2k and the problems gone.
