woha, that's gonna be difficult. first post here and i certainly DO NOT want to be an a#@h@le, but:
-why does everybody here think it is a matrox card that various hardware sites refer to when talking about the mysterious killer-thing?
-why would matrox reveal a new product half a continent away in san francisco, where they do not even seem to have an office (taken from their webpage)?
for example: 3dlabs/creative announced a new gaming card ("revolutionary " and whatnot; look here: http://www.americas.creative.com/co...ID=169&nav=2002
quote:
"Sim continued, ?As power gamers? insatiable demand for higher performance graphics capabilities grows, we see great opportunities to expand 3Dlabs? leadership in the ultra high-end professional markets into our higher volume PC consumer desktop markets. The technological breakthroughs that 3Dlabs has achieved to date, most specifically in the design of their upcoming chipsets including the startling achievement of the world?s first single chip TeraOps [trillion operations per second] visual processor with general purpose programmability, coupled with the strong market we see for high performance graphics accelerators, provide a tremendous growth opportunity for our company.?) - and they ARE lokated in san francisco.
-why is everybody thinking it is a vidcard AT ALL, was it mentioned before by anybody?
-isn't r300, parhelia, nv30 supposed to be dx9-cards? and if so, why would matrox not have to wait for the actual release, as the other companies seem to?
look, i DO BELIEVE that parhelia is for real (or whatever it will called), but - as tempting it might be - i cannot believe it is here so soon. secondly i have to admit i did not read all the hunderts of posts in this thread, so if any of you got information i don't have PLEASE do not take this as one of those "i don't believe you-s" - i just didn't read it then... thanks in advance,
j
