  • G400 display resolution problem....

Had a G200 running fine in P3650 Abit BE6 with NEC monitor; display properties showed a max res of 1028x768, and I could run 3DMark2000 default conditions.

Now, I switched out the G200 for a G400 and now the display res only shows 800x600 max, and I cannot run the default 3DMark2000.

Same drivers (6.82). Standard uninstall/reinstall (start in safe, remove drivers from add/remove, shut down, switch cards and reboot, on detection of the G400 I do the have disk thing and point to the drivers, then reboot)

This is my son's box, and he runs in 800x600, and has no problem with this, but I am curious. Is it a driver issue?

Here's the recommended procedure for installing the drivers: After uninstalling the previous drivers, when the system reboots and detects the card, instead of using the "Have disk" option, let windows install the card as "Standard PCI VGA". Reboot again and use the drivers' setup program to install them. Hope this helps!

Also, did the monitor drivers default back to standard or something? Try loading them again, or use an .inf from the matrox list.
