  • winxp and g450 (or g400) problem

I have a pretty serious problem with all matrox winxp drivers for g450, and my friend has the same problem with winxp and g400.

My configuration is: celeron tualatin 1k, abit st6, matrox g450, 256 Mb ram, windows XP professional.

The problem is fairly simple: computer crashes occasionally, for no apparent reason. also, 3dmark 2001 crashes on the game test. XP gives me a msg that Matrox drivers caused the crash.

My friend's computer (Msi 6309 board, celeron 600, g400) has a similar problem. Matrox drivers crash the computer in applications such as Word and OkBridge.

However, with the drivers for 450 Microsoft provides with XP, computer doesn't crash, and the 3dmark works slowly, but remains stable. Unfortunately, although these drivers work smoothly in windows surroundings, they suck for gaming (warcraft 3 beta, for instance, doesn't work.)

I've recently switched to XP after using win2k, and there weren't such problems on win2k. However, i'd like to stick with XP.

    Any ideas?

    Thanx.

Try the 5.72 drivers in you're using the 5.82 or go back to win2k.
