G400 & WinXP & Overlay

I'm wondering, why I can't use overlay mode in any program when I change desktop resolution to 1600x1200x32? I don't use DualHead. I have G400Max (32MB), latest drivers, WinXP Prof, BX chipset. When I change resolution to 1280x1024x32, everything works fine.

I'm missing something?

lack of (memory?) bandwidth... lower your refresh and it will 'magically' start working below a certain value.
