      Hey Guys,
Yeah we fixed a lot of bugs with the new ICD. The main ones are related to JK2, the problem with the freezing with the video is all taken care of. Also, we fixed a nasty bug that was in Quake 3, look at the wall and you will see a line as you move. That is also gone. Also more Medal of Honor fixes are in, performance should be much better. I recommend using this ICD from now on since this is what we're testing with right now on G550, G400. So any further fixes we do will be based on this ICD. I welcome your feedback or comments especially in JK2.

Is this opengl icd finally free from the directX/Direct3d pointers?

I guess I will have to disassemble to find out.

have they finally fixed the glquake isues?

last time i checked, glquake ran poorly with those active lights enabled.

it was THE only game the g400 just couldn´t cope with.

it ran well with very old drivers + turbogl, but not on new drivers.

GLQuake still runs poorly (even with gl_flashblend 1), including status bar corruption and missing implementation of mirror alpha (the latter isn't a big deal though, compared to the performance issue and status bar corruption).

Since the 32-bit z-buffer option in powerdesk still has an effect on OpenGL, it either means that there still are some directx pointers in the code, or the description is just wrong (but I guess the first)

the fix for the corrupting status-bar is to use the -conwidth parameter, and set it to something else than your resolution.

              example:

              D:\games\QUAKE\glquake.exe +exec q1.cfg +gl_round_down 0 -width 800 -bpp 32 -conwidth 801

your status-bar will still be rendered in 800*600, because "-conwidth" can´t be greater than "-width", but it won´t flicker.

im not entirely sure of this because it is a long time since i played glquake on my g400max.

Hmmm.... your suggested settings didn't seem to help, untill I tried to use it the other way round (conwidth 799 as opposed to 801).. which solved the status bar corruption fortunately.

I dug up some old topics on this, and r_dynamic 0 fixes the performance issue with GLQuake.

Now, if I only can fix the brightness problem in win2k (it's far too dark to be playable).

Download IdGamma and create a brightened PAK file.
You will need to do some experimenting, but then the fix will be permanent.

Would be nice if Matrox did include gamma correct for games rather than having to use the above trick or downloading powerstrip.

Thanks! the idgamma fix works like a charm! (I downloaded it previously to your post, but couldn't get it to work... after renewed inspiration I tried some more and succeeded ).

I've added all this info into one FAQ entry, so people who do a search might be helped in future (as far as anything wasn't in a single post already)

                        Pathetic

Hehe Guys this situation is so pathetic!!! After all this time and they don't have a proper OGL driver!!!! I don't play games or use any software that needs OGL so I don't really care or noticed anything.

Does the G200 have a proper OGL driver? Just wondering since I am using a Marvel G200?

Just tried the new ICD...verry nice!

Fixed the main issues with Jedi Knight: Outcast and kicked my framerates up a bit.

I will go slowly when experimenting with the game's display settings.

so they plan to fix the glquake issues?
it worked with the turboGL, so it is not a hardware issue.

I`m just wondering why they havent fixed it yet, they must have known about that bug for more than a year now, and since they have fixed it with the turboGL long ago, they must also know the solution. My only guess is that matrox DECIDED not too fix it. Please tell me i´m wrong, because that doesn´t sound like matrox at all.
