Thats the Problem that M will be facing with the P.
You are missing my point. I am concerned with immature drivers, hardware bugs, etc...Not sending a card to Kyle means they are scared of something.

They also know that the only thing that Kyle and his worshipers care about is frames per second in Q3(and the like). I know that they can't be far off the mark cuz he's essentially said the same to me a couple years back. Features and image quality mean nothing to him or his readers.

Just look at his postage... common guys.. we all know he didn't have to put any of that BS up... but then maybe he did. Typical of a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum cuz mommy said he could have any candy before dinner... I call'm as I see'm (right Kyle?

Whew.. glad I called in this morning about an hour after seeing it here. I got #17 (I guess that's PU17).

I remember waiting in vain to get a G400MAX at a discounted street price when it came out, finally having to pony up my $250 and get it from the Matrox store. Oh well, at least that won't be a problem this time.. assuming they get them out the door when they say they will, that is.

Well Greebe, I hope you are right that it is just a fps thing with Kyle. Call me skeptical, but I want to make sure I get my $400.00 worth. Damn, just read on Anand that the NDA is until the 25th for reviews also, did you notice the nice big matrox banner ad over on Anand?

KvHagedorn ... it doesn't sound like its going to be any problem getting a 128 P judging by earlier comments. Also remember that the Max was a sorted chip product unlike the current P offering. I doubt I'll have to wait when I finally decide to place my order. I'll probably even be able to buy it in my local store.

That doesn't change the fact that HardOCP has a right to review the card. They'll do an objective view on its capabilities of satisfying the needs of his readers. Whether or not Matrox can provide the necessary FPS doesn't change his eligibility for a sample card.

Whoever the PR was who made the initial statement was obviously wrong in doing so, since Matrox quickly changed their minds about letting HardOCP be one of the first to review it. (Before he even published that article)

2168*$400USD=$867,200USD!!! That's a lot of preorders in one day without even seeing a review.

What exactly happened to the G400max delay, I called in that moring when it went on pre-order, and it turned out I got my right on time, scheduled and everything... I had a great time, but only later I found out those who were not as prompt as I, had to wait to get their card...... sucks for them, but still curious, if there
was a bug on my version of the card or was it just in too high demand ?

                          isochar,

i thought the same thing...no telling though how many will cancel, or how many are multiple card orders. i ordered 2...one for someone special!!

i personally will wait no matter how long it takes, my g550 dual dvi is great, but limited on the dvi out. this new card will give me the res and refresh that i want out of dvi.

                          Displays

                          Pri. - Samsung 210T (21.3" TFT) - DVI
                          Sec. - Samsung 210T (21.3" TFT) - DVI

these displays look their best at 1600 x 1200 @ 75 Hz, 32 bit and thats what i'll be having as soon as i get this board.

                              I'm 2179.
I have this gut feeling I just gouged myself for $50 or so though.
Usually *someone* sells things cheaper than Matrox's online store. Oh well. And a rev. A card too... why do I do this to myself?
I'd have gotten it in sooner if Haig hadn't waited so long to reassure us they'd have a 2D Linux driver out pretty soon.
Of course, we've been asking about that for months, but when win98 wasn't supported I guess I panicked a bit. Hopefully I'm still early enough to get one out of the first batch.

Why do the US order numbers we are getting seem to jump from double digits to over 2000? Myself and some others here have numbers like 17, 19, 16, 59, etc., but THEN we hear from people with order numbers like 2168 and 2179. What happened to all those in-between numbers? Does anyone have a PU-734 or PU-1239 or something? What's with the weirdness here?
